Nordic whisky innovators Stauning Whisky have appointed Mangrove UK as their distributor in the UK. The partnership will see the Danish brand join forces with premium distributor Mangrove to distribute their award-winning portfolio of whiskies including Stauning Rye, Stauning El Classico and Stauning Smoke.
The team at Mangrove will be looking to grow the brand’s presence in the UK. Mangrove will be responsible for developing Stauning’s awareness in premium retail, its on trade footprint, and improve its visibility in UK e-commerce.

Founded in a remote village on the West Coast of Denmark, nine friends (a doctor, a chef, a butcher, a teacher, a helicopter pilot and four engineers), two small pot stills and an old butchery, was how it all began. They used local grains, traditional techniques such as floor malting and direct-fired small pot stills, and the focus was always on flavours not age.
Fast forward to 2018 when they launched their state-of-the-art distillery epitomising everything great about Danish design. It has become a popular tourist attraction and has been at the forefront of the regeneration of the local area, boosting tourism and employment. Despite the new distillery, the team retained their traditional ways of doing things and have kept their resolve to do everything “The Stauning Way”.
The whiskies have proven popular within Denmark where renowned Michelin-starred restaurant Noma delisting all other whiskies from their menu after tasting Stauning, and world-wide where they were most recently been awarded double gold in the 2022 San Francisco Spirits Competition for Stauning Rye and gold for El Classico.
