Scotch Whisky – 70cl
Glenglassaugh Distillery, at the east end of the beautiful Sandend Bay, was founded by Col. James Moir in 1875. He quickly established a reputation for making a quality whisky and the company prospered. The Glenglassaugh Coat of Arms represents the important connection between the distillery and the sea. The waves symbolise the influence of the coastal location on the character of their whisky. Glenglassaughs unique history has allowed us to introduce a very special range of whiskies including old vintages and non-aged expressions. These older vintages give a glimpse into the history of the distillery and the heart of Glenglassaugh. The expressions released since production re-started in 2008 are fresh, vibrant and exciting.
Glenglassaugh Torfa with its peaty, phenolic nature, is a unique expression, and is quite different to the usual style of whisky produced in the Highlands. ‘Torfa’, referring to the Old Norse word for peat, is produced using richly peated malted barley as the cereal varietal and has been matured in bourbon, Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 50%, non chill filtered and of natural colour.
