BenRiach 10 Year Old
Scotch Whisky – 70cl
Distillery founder John Duff travelled to Kentucky and South Africa in pursuit of whisky adventures, returning to Scotland in 1898 to build the BenRiach Distillery. BenRiach became independent in 2004 by BenRiach Distillery company limited, where it allowed the distillery to experiment with several interesting wood finishes and continue to produce whisky from both peated and non peated malted barley.
It is in his adventurous spirit that BenRiach boldly approaches the art of distillation and cask maturation, pushing the boundaries of malt alchemy like no other.
The distillery is also one of the two remaining distilleries in Speyside to distil whisky using malted barley from its own on-site floor maltings, a time honoured craft that is celebrated for one month each year.
Bottled at 43% vol, the BenRiach 10 Years Old is Classic Speyside in character. The cask formula focuses on ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks – exactly the types of wood we favour at BenRiach. This fresh, lively, fruit-laden single malt captures warm oak spices, green apple, dried apricots, peach and banana with subtle touches of aniseed, lemon zest and barley.
