Origin

Created by John Bouton, who descended from a family of French distillers and the official supplier at Napoleon’s Court. Once Napoleon’s Empire started to collapse, he decided to open a distillery in Bologna, the ancient Italian city, where he found a terroir similar to that of the Charente region the land of Cognac.

Process

Crafted in Bologna, Vecchia Romagna is a brandy with over two centuries of history. Distilled from premium, Trebbiano grapes, known as Ugni Blanc in France – where it is the best base grape for almost all of the world’s finest Cognacs.

Tasting Notes

A distinct, dry taste with an aromatic, complex bouquet and a warm intense colour.

Produced by skilfully combining continuous and discontinuous distillation and a double ageing process, first in barriques and then oak barrels.

COLOUR: Characterised by a beautiful luminous coppery antique gold colour.
NOSE: Hints of tropical fruit, such as papaya and pineapple, blend with vanilla, cinnamon and cloves. Vanilla and crisp notes are combined with caramelised baked pear in a mix of refined flavours.
PALATE: Smooth, complex and rounded with hints of sweet spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, in addition to strong notes of clove. A lingering aftertaste.

The Riserva Tre Botti is the result of the expertise and creative flair of Vecchia Romagna, a company that has mastered the secrets of brandy production for two centuries now.
This product acquires its richness and intensity from the blend of great spirits; the finest of which are aged for up to 10-15 years.
The spirit is aged in three different barrels: the small French oak barriques to define structure and character, the large Slovenian oak barrels to bestow softness and smoothness, and the tonneau barrels – previously used to store Italian red wine – to obtain refined, velvety notes.

COLOUR: Characterised by its luminous amber colour.
NOSE: Characterised by hints of dried fruit, namely hazelnut and other sweeter aromas such as cinnamon and tropical fruit.
PALATE: Smooth, soft and balanced due to the blend of the woody oak and roasted hazelnut notes and the sweet and crisp fruity notes of vanilla, raisins and tropical fruit, in addition to the spicy hints of cinnamon and cloves.
