Intro to the brand
Glendalough Distillery was set up by a group of friends from Wicklow and Dublin with a passion for reviving the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. They built their distillery near their favourite spot in the mountains – Glendalough – and it shows in everything they make.
The gins are of a very different quality: made from fresh, wild ingredients foraged in the mountains around the distillery by a full-time forager, and in the still within hours of picking. Batches are tiny – less than 250 litres – and slow-distilled, with cut points decided batch by batch, by smell and taste, never timed or automated. The whiskeys follow the same obsessive attention, with a deep focus on the wood each spirit spends its time in.
